Sooo my seasonal work is over, at least until they call me in again some time in March. I really don't want to end up needing the job then so I'm taking it as motivation to get full-time work before then, but I'm not getting my hopes up that will work out.
I hate hate hate job hunting so much. You should give me a job because otherwise I won't have health insurance that's why.

But in good news that's at least good news to me, I have very randomly been having a lot of thinky thoughts about my fantasy novel I haven't touched since I wrote a very rough draft of it in college, and I think, for real this time, I know how it ends (I mean, I pretty much already knew how it would end since a year ago but I didn't know how to orchestrate it in a ~dramatically satisfying way, w/e). Anyway, I've been doing a lot of mental revisiting of the characters and getting privately very emotional about this and it's a funny kind of happy because I can't just celebrate and get drunk with myself over basically nothing but having a fuck-ton of work to do.

It still depresses me that I don't know how to summarize the plot in less than a paragraph, though. That doesn't feel like a good sign.

Agh, so there's no way I'm going to address all my feels about the last Sherlock episode so let's just have a brief list of things I loved about this last season:
-Lestrade ("Oh God. Ah Christ.")
-Adler
-Molly
-The fact that Molly and Lestrade totally need to get together.
-The fact that John and Sherlock continue to have occasional giggle fits and generally act like immature BFFs sometimes <3 <3 <3
-Moriarty's music choices.
-Sherlock's fucking tears.
-Everything about John Watson forever.
-On a spoilery note about John: I'm a little surprised they made his character more depressing than he already would be to give John these persistent problems with women he was interested in throughout the season (with problems that always had something to do with Sherlock) and then have him wind up without so much as a love interest during Sherlock's epic leave of death. I'm not saying it would really make him much happier if he had a girlfriend, because it probably wouldn't. There just seems to be a conscious Forever Alone-ness about how they wrote him...He would have had an easier time with dating if he didn't have a rude flatmate who he was pretty much in love with who demanded so much of his time, but the fact is, John is never an idiot who does things he doesn't want to do just because somebody asks him nicely or insistently enough. He may often act very put-upon about doing some things for Sherlock but in the end we know that he wants to do them, and the mere fact that he never got fed up and left means that he wanted nothing more than for Sherlock to stick around interfering with his life for the rest of his life. In conclusion, there is no gif to convey my sadness.

Not to be a dick or anything, but I couldn't help laughing at the Tumblr posts going around by people: "omg does he die in the last episode? i need to know cause i'm not gonna watch it if he does."

My feelings on this season's Sherlock as a whole are pretty mixed. The second episode was the strongest one of the three, imo. I found Moriarty as a madman a waste, tbh, and would have liked to have seen him played closer to Doyle's version as a criminal on par with Sherlock instead of a mad genius who, in the end, I found more or less pathetic.

I agree with what you wrote about Watson. Martin Freeman's performance was great last night and he showed what he could do as an actor, highlighting John's sadness and isolation.

YAY for the novel! Doesn't matter if it's a lot of work to do - isn't it great when plotty-things get resolved? (also, you should hurry up and write it, so you can get published, so I can buy and read it, because clearly it'll be awesome. No arguments, I just know it)

Job hunting is pretty horrible, though. Hope one turns up soon and with minimal hustle.

:D Of course the work is fun, but it's just one of those stories that just keeps getting longer every time I have any kind of epiphany about it. W/e, I'm excited. And thanks for the encouragement on both fronts :)
