It's another fic told through snippets from invented social media posts across about ten years, following the development, within the universe of Heated Rivalry, of hockey rpf fandom, mainly focusing on Hollanov (Ilya/Shane). It's extraordinarily well done, and although the story of Shane and Ilya's decade-long love affair is the core thread, the real tale is of the rpf fandom, specifically a few devoted fans. The poignancy and brilliance of this fic is the portraits it paints of fanwriters and young fans, immersed in the fandom while they grow and develop, moving through their own life stages and dramas while posting about the hockey players they love, especially Hollanov. And in the end, of course, the Hollanov truthers are resoundingly vindicated. The formatting makes it clear that we're seeing posts on tumblr, livejournal, AO3, Reddit, Twitter, etc., with different types of fandom on each platform. Hilarious and touching, this is a wonderful read, and the details are meticulous and very funny.
PS: It may help to know in advance (as these may be hockey rpf terms with which I was unfamiliar) that 2481 is code for Hollander/Rozanov (their jersey numbers), and 2435 is Hollander/Pike. MHL is the Major Hockey League, HR's version of the NHL. Some details in the fic will probably only make sense if you've read the books.
PPS: Also, there's a fictional recs list by "ice knives" partway through, and I want to read ALL OF THEM!

In the past, we had a "winner" who completed the most fills each day, and at the end of the week, we'd announce an overall winner. But this time around, we're doing things differently! There are no winners or “losers,” just prompts that have been filled. At the end of the week, we'll share a roundup of all the lonely prompts that have been filled.
Friday's Theme: One Fandom or Many Fandoms
More Information: You have a choice: either pick one fandom and fill as many prompts for it as you can, or write a single fill for as many different fandoms as possible.
If you leave a request, please make sure it follows the theme for the day and that each request is a new comment.
You are more than welcome to fill any lonely prompts, but only the prompts filled for the current theme will be counted for the daily totals. I will, however, include a list of those who completed other prompts when I compile the roundup at the end of the week.
Please number your fills when leaving more than one in a comment. This helps me when I'm ready to count them up.
To find those elusive Lonely Prompts, you can go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.

I have read HotE, Petty Treasons, Portrait of a Wide Seas Islander, RoFA, and AtfotS. Please NO SPOILERS for books I haven’t read.
I definitely want Kip & HR to be a focus but please feel free to also include additional canon characters!
HotE ate my entire brain. I LOVE Cliopher. I love his devotion and love for his Radiancy, his desire to make the world a better place, his stubbornness and determination, his deep connection to his family, home and culture despite his long years so far away, his utter competence and unshakeable ethics… I love HR and his humor and mischief and longing to escape the confines of his position. I love the special bond they obviously have and which obviously means so much to them both, and my god the pining, I want them to be able to be together in all the ways they want to. I obviously ship them romantically, but if you are more moved to write about their love platonically, that is completely welcome as well. I am absolutely on board with canon divergence of the flavor ""Kip is sexually attracted to HR"" OR canon-level aroace Kip. I would adore fic that has the five friends living in Kip’s house in Gorjo City after they retire, something slice-of-life or working out who they are apart from their jobs. I’m imagining some silly roommate fluff/humor like HR making nothing but fruit salad every time it’s his turn to cook (because he loves fresh fruit!! And he doesn’t know how to cook anything) and everyone else is like “again?!”

HotE ate my entire brain. I LOVE Cliopher. I love his devotion and love for his Radiancy, his desire to make the world a better place, his stubbornness and determination, his deep connection to his family, home and culture despite his long years so far away, his utter competence and unshakeable ethics… I love HR and his humor and mischief and longing to escape the confines of his position. I love the special bond they obviously have and which obviously means so much to them both, and my god the pining, I want them to be able to be together in all the ways they want to. I obviously ship them romantically, but if you are more moved to write about their love platonically, that is completely welcome as well. I am absolutely on board with canon divergence of the flavor ""Kip is sexually attracted to HR"" OR canon-level aroace Kip. I would adore fic that has the five friends living in Kip’s house in Gorjo City after they retire, something slice-of-life or working out who they are apart from their jobs. I’m imagining some silly roommate fluff/humor like HR making nothing but fruit salad every time it’s his turn to cook (because he loves fresh fruit!! Author’s Notes: You know, throughout this fandom I've seen fans extend grace towards all sorts of morally grey characters. There are Xue Yang stans, Su She truthers, Wen Ruohan fuckers and Meng Yao apologists, I've even seen Jin Zixun have something like a redemption arc! But the one thing I've never, ever seen is a redemption story for Jin Guangshan.
This fic isn't one either.

I referenced this copy of Charles Dickens' ACC while writing this fic. How come nobody told me Dickens was such a fuckin' comedian? The adaptations only ever quote the dramatic lines.
Reccer's Notes: This is one of the most meticulous, erudite, and considered pieces of crack I’ve ever read; the characters themselves are constantly lampshading the incompatibility of the crossover. Mikkeneko manages, somehow, to keep everyone in character while shoehorned into the Christmas Carol roles and to transpose this Christian morality play into the context of a Xianxia China unbothered by missionaries—demonstrating a thorough understanding of both the canons she’s Frankenstitched together. There’s a smidgen of Shakespeare in there too; the Christmas Carol scenario is a stage play, presented by Jin Guangyao in a Hamletesque ploy to lay a ruler’s sins bare.
