Since everyone seems to be doing this meme... (I confess I haven't really been asking people anything, but you can assume I've been stalking everyone's answers to other people's questions because I'm curious.)

Ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious but you have no idea about, or something obscure you just have to know. Ask away. All topics, within reason, are open for discussion.

So, apparently I am a nosy person because I have a few questions. Feel free to answer whatever you feel like.

Best personality trait? Greatest flaw?

What’s the weirdest, craziest or most embarrassing thing you’ve done for the sake of fandom-y stuff? (If you have any. I am just asking because I can name a few, myself. LOL).

And I know you probably get this a lot, but I don’t know any twins, so tell me something about it. Are you physically identical or non-identical? Are you similar, personality-wise? Do you get along?

I think one of my best traits is that it's not often I get bored, which I suppose is what makes people think I'm a very patient person, but also generally goes along with being creative I guess. My worst trait is that I can be very insecure/defensive at times.

Hmm, I don't really have crazy fandom stories. I just remember that when the final season of BSG was going, I was driving long distance every weekend just so I could enjoy the episode with my boyfriend instead of around my potentially noisy college housemates, and when they found out that was the reason I was making so many trips home I didn't hear the end of it : P

My sister and I are identical but we don't look as alike as we used to, though you'd definitely know right away that we're sisters. Personality-wise, I think we are more unalike than people initially assume but also more alike than our friends seem to think. She's more "feminine" (whatever that means, but I'm okay with it) and a little more confident; I'm more sensitive, in the good and bad ways. As far as our interests/hobbies, we're pretty much into the same stuff and have creepishly identical fandom opinions almost all of the time. We get along...most of the time. She usually wins arguments. I always win at arm wrestling.

Thanks for the answers! I especially love the one about your sister (arm wrestling? Haha). I’ve always had this notion that being a twin must be something extremely cool, but of course that is only me projecting all my romanticized fantasies, heh. Btw, I can tell from your LJ alone that you and your sister’s fandom tastes are very similar –And I don’t think it’s a coincidence either that two of my all time favorite BSG fics (Aerilon Girls and We Are Not Friends) are yours, hee.

when they found out that was the reason I was making so many trips home I didn't hear the end of it

Ah, haha. I can relate. BSG has to be the fandom for which I’ve done the weirdest things. I was totally obsessed! The problem is that when I have a crush I get way too emotionally invested, to the point of interfering with my RL in slightly unhealthy ways (my BF could write an entire essay about it, poor guy). Thanks God I don’t fall in love easily, so it’s mostly OK I guess ;)

Every once in a while I think how interesting it would be if Sara and I could collaborate on a fic, and we've sort of tried to do it before (the basic premise of "We're Not Friends" actually started out off the page as something we came up with together), but for some reason it's really hard to get our shit together and finish anything when we're not working independently. But man, I don't think I ever would have written anything if not for her? I remember she was the one who discovered fanfiction and it was like "It's like those terrible Star Wars and Animorphs stories we used to pass to each other in our notebooks except it's ON THE INTERNET, OMG."

And LOL, we are blessed to have men who put up with our fandomy ways. Occasionally mine has the same obsessions ("Let me know when she fixes Rob," he says, glaring at my copy of Broken Harbor) and he's even read a couple fics but a lot of stuff about online fandom scares him a little bit.

Oooh, a collaboration would be awesome! Not only because you are so talented, but also because you get each other’s really well on a fandom-y level I think, so that would be a great foundation to come up with fresh and intriguing ideas for a story. I wouldn’t care whether I was into the fandom you might end writing for, I’d read it anyway just for the sake of good fic! (I am sorry if I sound too flattering, but I really like the way you both put the words together! :D)

And yeah, understanding boyfriends FTW, LOL. Funny thing is, J and I are very much alike and we normally have similar opinions, interests, hobbies… It’s a lot of fun because we are usually into the same stuff (though our take on certain things vary) and our discussions/rants/etc are pretty awesome, heh. Problem is, when it comes to my fannish obssessions (which usually involve crushes on characters and hardcore shipping), we couldn’t be more different. To begin with, he doesn’t understand getting obsessed in any way, but on top of this he usually dislikes the characters/relationships I am drawn to (I remember we got into a couple of ridiculously serious spats over Kara fucking Thrace and why she wasn’t a despicable person, and I am still trying to convince him that Rob is a decent guy who happens to have a trauma of epic proportions). Funny thing is, our disagreements don’t bother him at all (he actually finds amusing that I am so intense about the things I love), though it is beyond frustrating for me, haha. But one can’t hope for a perfect relationship, right? :P

Oh, and this is completely OT, but since you mentioned Broken Harbor, I was meaning to ask… Are you reading it/Have you finished it? I am curious to know what you might think of it, especially because it’s been kind of a disappointment for most people of my flist, so… (Personally, it’s my least favorite book of Tana, but I liked it anyway –though here I am possibly completely biased because I just cannot not like anything she writes, and her standards are sooo far above the trash crime novels I usually read).

My guy has a Starbuck tattoo, so we agree on the best thing about BSG at least :) I've always been a little afraid to ask how he feels about Kara/Lee, but he definitely never liked her with Sam, hah. I get way too sensitive about some characters and relationships when a story is really close to my heart...like, and I know this is pretty silly, when I really appreciate the way a character is written as a writer and somebody really hates/doesn't seem to understand that character it's like they're insulting the type of writer I want to be. And okay, not everybody has to like what I write, and sometimes the best characters are really polarizing like that, but still.

I did actually finish BH over a week ago and have been meaning to make a post about it (I may actually write a review on goodreads for once). It's a bit lacking compared to her other books, yeah, but I did really like it. And I don't know why I keep expecting her novels to NOT BE FRIKKIN SAD.

Ha, that’s the coolest thing I’ve heard today :D

And I am not a writer so I can’t know exactly how you feel, but I don’t think it is silly at all… I take it personally when someone bashes the characters/relationships I love, because they all reveal things about me and it’s like they are insulting me or (what is worse), they can’t understand me, hence the frustration. But yeah, different strokes for different folks, I suppose. (Funny thing about my BF? He usually struggles with certain type of characters as a viewer/reader (Kara, Rob… You see the pattern), but then he writes protagonists like that ALL THE TIME. Yeah, the guy is complicated, lol).

Ah, yay! I want to read that post, so we can chat a little bit about the book (though it seems like a lifetime since I finished it). I didn’t like it as much as the previous ones, but I blame Scorcher for that –it was hard for me to connect with someone like him, so that killed my enjoyment of the book a little. An the ending was very sad indeed (maybe the saddest? I felt so bad for the Spains and POOR RICHIE). But one can arguably say that The Likeness and Faithful Place had “happy” endings… It almost makes me hope that she doesn’t write Cassie and Rob again, because I don’t think I can deal with more heartbreak, not with them :/.
