This is late, but I hope everyone had a happy little holiday. I had one of those Christmases that felt like a very long day in a good way. Did presents with Shep's mom, did presents with my family, had some scrumptious dinner and then of course went to see Django Unchained (badaaass). Sadly because of some crap that came up that he has to take care of for his restaurant my brother and his lady had to leave us a day early, so I'll probably just be reading and enjoying my new blu-rays for the rest of the day because I'm not really out of lazy mode.

Of course I saw The Hobbit. I was pleased! It's long and very true to the feel of heroic romance that the book has (a big adventure with a lot of little adventures on the way) which will put off some people who really aren't into seeing a movie that feels a lot like a book but didn't bother me. Naturally there are some strong opinions about taffy-pulling this thing into three movies, but I'm frankly not interested in getting into that.

Fun fact: I remember that at least one of the times I read The Hobbit as a kid, either by ignoring or somehow overlooking description, I imagined Dori and Nori as women. And now I can't help imagining what that would have been like as kind of awesome, especially since it doesn't seem we'll ever even meet a dwarf woman in any of the movies.

Glad you had a good Christmas - the lazy ones, imo, are the best. :D

Also, YAY for the Hobbit! I admit I found the length a bit tiring, but since they're adding all of the appendices in I'm not going to complain, oooh no (more dwarves! and elves! and hobbitses! :D)
Also, weren't the dwarves awesome? I always had such trouble remembering and telling them apart in the book - now I can finally tell who's who! They were all so distinctive.
And Martin Freeman makes such a great Bilbo!

Haha, I'm almost at the point where I can name/tell apart all of the dwarves. I love Bofur ("Think furnace, with wings") and of course Fili and Kili, who my sister and I are now joking about trying to be for Halloween some year. But they were all so badass and funny. (And rude XD) And I agree, Freeman was great!
