-Though there's no real news on the casting choices for that "all-female Expendables" project, Katee is excited about some of the other names the producer threw out. This doesn't say anything about who will actually end up signing on of course, but I'm feeling optimistic.

-Drive-by The Hobbit fic rec: "Loyalty, Honor, Heart" by leupagus. A short amusing romp into modern day AU; that alone would be enough to please me but the way the journey is fused into a college story is perfect.

-Lately I can't help resenting the barrage of anti-education/whining-about-homework posts I see on Tumblr because I honestly miss being in school. Of course I remember that sometimes the stress was pretty bad, but still.

yep yep, I don't care about the plot (it's not as if the Expendables had much of a plot, I loved it anyway), it's going to be *awesome*! :D

Duuude, THIS IS SO EXCITING. I mean, a bunch of tough and awesome ladies kicking butt? I don’t really care about the quality, I AM SO IN :D :D. I think I can think of at least 10 names (old and new faces) I’d love to see in the movie. Katee is going to nail it (and Gina Carano is awesome too!).

And what’s this thing about people complaining about homework, of all things? I mean, bitching about work is totally understandable (lol) but homework? I don’t want to be too condescending (though I am of course), but I guess they are just young; they will change their mind. Or maybe they don’t appreciate the value of a good education, and that is just sad. My college years were the best and miss them something fierce, I miss learning for the sheer pleasure of it. Even now, that I am all stressed out and on the brink of a nervous breakdown (my exam is in… a 10 days? ugh), I just can’t help thinking I’ve had so much fun these last months, studying.

Yeah, I won't even care if the movie is a bit corny, cause that's kind of the whole point. It should be interesting to see what kind of "veteran" action stars they get, cause I'd love to see Sigourney Weaver or Pam Grier.

To be fair if they are American high schoolers I'm not entirely sure they're receiving a good education (I had some amazing teachers, but the stories I've heard about some schools...) but I'm a little dubious of whether it's the system that bothers them as much as having to do work, lol. And I can't help rolling my eyes at all this "Haha, joke's on you if you thought going to college would actually get you a job" commentary because even though it's totally true that it doesn't seem to be helping a whole lot, I don't regret going because I learned a lot.
