-A-HA: Chris Pine indeed gains weight to play Kirk. (I like the bit just past the six minute mark when they talk about a weird summer job he had. His laugh is so cute you just want to smack him. And the beard. AUGH.) Also, Letterman always reminds me very strongly of my dad which I think makes him a little more entertaining to me than to most people.

-The trailer for the next season of Teen Wolf makes that show look, I feel, quite a bit cooler than it actually is (heh?). Sometimes the actual horror factor of that show is decent, though. Holland Roden continues to be prettier than everybody else.

-Saw STID a second time. I officially believe that it is not just in my head that Chris Pine is a good actor, even if he isn't spot-on all the time. That reaction shot after Pike tells him he believes in him destroys my life. Also, I have surrendered completely to shipping Bones/Carol. I feel sort of guilty about how I'm kind of inserting this into where Bones/Chapel used to live in my heart, but since this one has maybe a snowball's chance in hell...

I mean, Pine played Kirk really well in XI, but being too much a trekkie I wasn't really sure. But my partner said he was good and he didn't know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars! Also, then i saw Pine in Unstoppable, a movie I had to be dragged to go and see. I loved it though! And Pine was absolutely fantastic in it!

And he's awesome with a beard, hahaha.

Chris Pine was amazing. The Kirk & Pike scenes absolutely gutted me- ugh, getting a little verklempt just thinking about it right now. I was more of a Quinto/Spock girl in the past but let me just say, this press tour/the beard/Pine's acting in STID have shown me the light.

I saw the interview and he is so charming! And I do think he is a good actor (my BF, who tends to be more objective and critical than me when judging acting skills, thinks the same btw). I like him a lot in the in the first ST movie (I haven’t seen Into Darkness yet)) and I thought he also did a good performance in Unstoppable (the movie is pretty enjoyable). Some day I have to watch This Means War, heh.

And God yes, he definitely can pull off the beard. Yum!
