Thank you for taking a look at my letter! I like to think I'm into a wide range of dynamics/stories . Some of my prompts may seem extensive for a short-form exchange, but feel free to use them as a vague springboard.

Basics: No rating preferences, no preference over POV/tense/narrative style, just use whatever comes to you! I love pastiche for lit fandoms but something that feels more off the beaten path of the original style can also be fun.

I love: Angst, pining, subtle UST, first times, or established relationships with some level of conflict to be resolved. Intense friendship stories. Protectiveness in close relationships as well as in those that wouldn’t obviously appear to be protective at first. Characters experiencing a type of attraction that isn’t the status quo for them. Relationships that had a falling-out and neither of them ever really got over it. Characterization that focuses on the nature & nurture of who people have grown to be and the unique ways they take care of or need other characters. Insecurity/hangups over worthiness. A relatively even distribution between bi and gay interpretations within m/m or f/f. AUs*, whether they interact with our expectations from the original story or tell it in a thoughtfully different way, as a fork-in-the-road or a completely different genre/setting that strikes you as something that would bring some good stuff out of the characters/relationship(s). You are welcome to poke around my AO3 bookmarks or my tumblr or even my goodreads to see what fandoms I’m familiar with if the idea of doing a crossover or fusion* appeals to you (crossovers can get controversial but I say as long as big fandom characters don’t take center stage, anything is fair game).
[*I would always love to see fusions etc. with: The Bone Clocks, Harry Potter, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (I like every version I've seen), It Follows, Old Kingdom, Pacific Rim (though I’m not as into PR as its own fandom, so more of a fusion than a crossover or less focus on its characters would be preferred). I’m rarely picky about AUs, but I’d always like to see: arranged marriage (good or a conflict, amiable or eventually passionate), college/high school - or the more rare school faculty AU, sci-fi, slavery as a non-kinky theme, sex work as a non-kinky theme (though i wouldn’t be offended by smutty hookerfic), historical settings, and good old fork-in-the-road ideas that bring a whole different set of conflicts and emotional moments.]

I like art that plays with what a character would look like with some conceptual change (cyberpunk, historical or future fashion, cracky clothing choices, etc). I love nouveau/old-fashioned/pastiche styles, comic/pop art styles, limited palettes, cross-hatching/intaglio effects. I'm open to sexually explicit art; I would prefer for gore to be limited to a bit of blood/bruises, but violence/darker subjects implied are fine.

Kinks: bondage, xeno, anal sex/stimulation of any configuration, really good kissing, baddies made them do it, sex pollen, scarfing/choking/neck-holds, dirty talk, blowjobs, semi-public sex (more about the thrilling risk of getting caught than exhibitionism), angry (claiming, resentful, self-hating, etc.) sex, passionate vanilla sex.

I can handle: Dubcon, noncon, torture, incest, bigotry. Character death. Love triangles. Infidelity.

ATTACK THE BLOCK (2011)
Moses/Sam

I'd love a relationship that picks up after they've had some time and space, preferably after Moses has hit about twenty. Maybe they've been in touch but it's still awkward trying to navigate what their relationship is, until they realize how much they understand and feel safe with each other while their shared trauma (which may have been swept under the rug even if everyone close to the block knows what happened) alienates them from other people they've tried to live normal lives with. Do they get together and stay in to drink on Guy Fawkes Night while the fireworks go off outside? I like the idea of Moses being so good in bed that any reservations about her feelings for him are hard to stick to.

Art-friendly prompts: Heroic action poses. Intense eye contact. I love the look of the aliens in this movie, so feel free to include them (and don't worry too much about erring on the side of gen for art, but you could go closer to explicit, either way).

DNW: Involvement while Moses is underage, A/B/O, mpreg.

BLACKKKLANSMAN (2018)

Flip Zimmerman/Ron Stallworth

I'm not opposed to anything that matches the realism and seriousness of the canon, but any of the more tropey things you might do with cops (doing a stakeout, joking and pranking at the office, being in tune with each other as partners) would hit the spot. Or maybe an AU where the operation goes differently or lasts a lot longer. Protectiveness, the sense of keeping up identities both in and out of work, conversations that accidentally get personal, missing scenes when their trust is building more strongly.

Art-friendly prompts: Ron gets flirtatious/physical when he’s drunk. Impromptu slow-dancing at one of their homes. Back-to-back badassery. Stolen make-outs in the file rooms.

DNW: Coming out of the closet as a plot, magical soulmate tropes, mpreg.

CHRISTINE - STEPHEN KING

Arnie Cunningham/Dennis Guilder

Maybe they’ve fooled around once or twice? Maybe Arnie was the one who got weird about it, afraid of the eventual rejection, or they’re both just too repressed? I like the triangle with Leigh too, if you wanted to get into the confused jealousy/conduit attraction thing, just nothing that completely dismisses any meaning of her relationship with Dennis if it needs to exist or be referenced (I don't reserve that much of a care for Arnie/Leigh though).

If Christine was dangerously jealous over Dennis instead of Leigh, how would that go down differently? Or maybe the car decides she wants to be shared by them, and maybe likes to watch them do things to each other (take that however you want it to mean) and either their closeness makes the two of them eventually snap out of it, or they all just become a weird evil threesome. I'm also into the idea of some other fantasy/sci-fi AU in which Christine is something or someone else entirely but is still threatening in some paranormal/inhuman way.

DNW: Leigh is a beard for Dennis, mpreg, body fluid kinks.

COWBOY BEBOP

Faye Valentine/Jet Black

I would love a complicated post-canon get-together, and while I'm usually more about the UST and the first times, I would also love a glimpse of an established relationship where they've learned to treat each other more lovingly. I could see Jet having had some suppressed feelings for Faye for a long time, but her needing some time to realize she can look at him that way (and/or maybe needing some mistaken-for-dead scenario to realize he means a lot to her). As there's kind of a repeated trope of Faye going through some pretty traumatic stuff that she just toughs out mostly on her own (like her encounters with Vicious and Vincent) I'd love to get a moment like that when Jet intervenes and can't help betraying that he's protective, or maybe just a focus on her having nightmares/dealing badly with the aftermath of you-name-it and Jet definitely noticing more than she thinks he does.

DNW: "Fixing" Spike's death, mpreg, body fluid kinks.

FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD - THOMAS HARDY

Bathsheba Everdene/Gabriel Oak

Any moment from their working relationship that shows that Gabriel starts to fall more genuinely in love with the real her rather than the woman he initially idealized, despite all reasons against it, would be great; or some moment from Bathsheba’s viewpoint that shows her neighborliness actually becoming a deeper trust…I don’t really approach this as a super-steamy ship but feel free to try to convince me there was some UST on a level that Hardy didn’t indulge in (maybe Bathsheba had a most unexpected dream about Gabriel at some point), or give me something in bed from the honeymoon period if that’s your thing (Would she have been pleasantly surprised by him, if Troy was not the most considerate partner? How does it affect the dynamic that he's the virgin?). Alternate settings would be welcome; I love the idea of them being professional partners in a sci-fi or fantasy AU.

DNW: lots of focus on pitying Boldwood (let's say I'd almost rather he be treated as more of a villain), soulmates, mpreg.

UNDER THE SKIN - MICHEL FABER

Amlis/Isserley
Fanart/Fanfiction

Does meeting Isserley change Amlis in any way? Does he hear about her death (and whatever problems that creates for the industry after her remains are found) and grieve in spite of the reactions around him?

I also like the idea of Amlis overestimating how much his own father will look the other way while his son is trying to bring activism against his corporation, and maybe ending up unofficially exiled to the base on Earth where he meets Isserley.

You can run with however you might be inclined to write this ship as far as xeno sex goes, if you don't just play on the subtly romantic vibes they had in the novel. Maybe an AU where they actually were (almost?) involved in the past, or at least met before Isserley went through with the surgery and had a similar love/hate dynamic which makes her new appearance all the more embittering for her when they meet again.

Art-friendly prompts: Honestly if someone actually wants to rise to the challenge of rendering these characters I don't much want to limit beyond that. I love that scene when Isserley takes Amlis to the outdoors, if you could explore visually that starry pastoral atmosphere and how it's completely foreign to Amlis. Capturing a moment of comforting or unexpected kindness between them would be lovely.
