On not fighting the power, and getting out of the kitchen, and other discontent

I got an InsaneJournal, but am not yet pressed to actually back up my LiveJournals. That is apparently a very complicated process if you have a Mac anyway. Ideally, I'd want to figure out how to actually synchronize two journals, but I don't think that will even be possible. I have access to my parents' extremely slow computer that has Windows, but I think I'd want the software on the computer I primarily use if I understand the whole thing sort of correctly.
As I've been weaving out the plans for a fanfic I'm about to write, though, I realize that when the time comes to post it I probably won't take the risk of posting it here, because some of the content is going to be blatantly controversial, possibly before it even gets overtly sexual. I will probably post links to the IJ on LJ fanfic communites, but I have to wonder if I could get reported for doing even that. And you know, that kinda bothers me, because I'm having to hide my writing in fear of being censored, and that's really lame. *sadface*
I can make myself feel better about all of this by playing with the mammoth-sized icon limit at InsaneJournal, I find.

I know how you feel. I'm totally exhausted and depressed about this whole thing.

I have both IJ and GJ and it seems that most people prefer IJ (me too). But I haven't been able to get the energy to start transferring much or installing the xposting software I downloaded.

As for the linking - according to LJ links to stuff outside of LJ that goes against their TOS is also prohibited and can lead to suspensions... So...

Even though this doesn't surprise me...WTF? That doesn't seem to make sense, considering that LJ doesn't have the capacity to monitor anything that goes on on different sites. It's like getting arrested for talking about doing something illegal. Okay, that parallel falls short on a few points, but god dammit.
