*flails*
1. THE KISS. I absolutely loved the way that entire scene played out, with us just being brought right into this comfort between Kara and Lee in the brig that just so sadly emphasized that he seems to be the only person on Galactica who is really there for her, not just happy that she's back and wanting to trust her but unflinchingly trusting her. And he's leaving. Of course as is typical with some of the most emotional scenes in BSG, there was the putting on of formal airs with an obvious desire to just grab each other, and you weren't really surprised when they actually did. They've never looked so sweet together before. The "I believe you" just melted me.
2. Also, Lee looked just smashing in that suit. :)
3. Well, we finally are getting the cylon-on-cylon revolution I've been looking forward to ever since the weird oppression of the machine cylons by the skin-jobs was made more apparent in season three, and it happened in a way that was satisfyingly almost humorous. My only complaint is Boomer being lamecakes and voting for the raider lobotomies, WTF? I haven't understood Boomer since the New Caprica bullshit went down. It just seems like she suddenly identified with the cylon masses and joined up with their cold unity right after wanting to bring them down. I half-expected her to rejoin Galactica at some point, and I guess I'm still dissapointed about that.
4. Head!Baltar!!! What the hell!!!!! That has to be the funniest moment that has happened in twenty episodes. But it was also very thought-provoking. Since the imaginary Gaius used to appear in Caprica's head and present kind of the human argument for her actions, I think it represents how Baltar is actually gaining a sense of loyalty to his fellow people, when before he was just kind of a tool who felt like he was in the middle of something he wasn't sure he believed in.
5. Speaking of Gaius. . .I thought that sex scene with Tory very surprising. Gaius was, you know. . .so nice.
6. I just rewatched the episode and couldn't stop crying when everybody's seeing Lee off. GOD, it's just impossible for me to wrap my head around it. I have a feeling they will find some way to have Lee crawl into a Viper again by the end of the show, but who knows.
7. Mary McDonnell's acting was a little off in this episode, and I couldn't quite put my finger on what was a little weak. It kind of bugged me that she just had the same expression on her face the entire time Starbuck had her at gunpoint. It's understandable that she would be trying to take a different direction in portraying the character, though. Laura seems to be having to finally accept that she is going to die soon, maybe too soon, and it was interesting to see how this was taxing more on her inner strength then ever. And the bitterness of the situation is creating this thick tension between her and Adama that is so hard to watch.
8. Anders didn't do much in this episode except for the, "She's my WIFE!" protests, which I thought were really weak. I like Sam, but I can't help feeling like his relief over Kara being alive has more of a self-validating motive. I almost think he wants her to be a cylon so that he won't be alone and they can be a happy cylon couple (because he seems to have already lost interest in him and Tory being a happy cylon couple).
9. The ending, woah. That untied a big knot in my chest; I don't know if I could have handled them ending the episode on such a bitter note between Starbuck and Adama. Damn. I wonder if Bill has told Lee what's going on yet. I thought it was a really interesting choice that Helo is going with Kara. It makes me a little nervous that he and Athena are going to be separated for possibly a very long time, but I guess they couldn't have sent someone in a much higher position or nobody would really buy the away mission farce. But since Helo's been kind of distant but respectful with Starbuck as of yet, I hope the tension clears once they're in this together.
10. Lee Adama is going to be president.
