What the hell, I think I am starting to have chronic muscle pain from frequently being cold. Is that possible? My back has always had the tendency to tighten up a whole lot when I'm shivering, and more recently my neck seems to be doing it too. I thought everybody was like this until a while ago. Seriously, I do like winter, but I don't love it. Especially when there's freezing rain and I have not one or two but three purely slapstick spills on my way to class. THREE. Ever notice how slipping on the ice isn't as funny when you're by yourself? (Actually, some of the time it's not funny at all, especially when somebody (my ex-roommate) gets a concussion and the local hospital is too stupid to do anything about it besides administer an anti-nausea drug when even I know that vomiting indicates TOO MUCH CRANIAL PRESSURE OH MY GOD YOU INCOMPETENT FUCKS.)
I miss my nursing friends.
Caprica comes back this week. I will probably miss it or at least not be able watch it with anyone else. Boo : |

Date: 2010-01-22 06:29 pm (UTC)CAPRICA. (Though I found out they're just repeating the long pilot this week, so I've already seen it. But I wouldn't mind watching it again.)

TWO CENTS
Date: 2010-01-25 04:54 am (UTC)As far as your neck pain, I'm guessing it's already strained from holding up your head in the position you (and I and most people) tend to hold it, and then the shivering just adds little spasms to an already stretched and strained muscle. A human head weighs as much as a bowling ball and if it's pushed forward in front of the neck and torso all those muscles in your neck and upper back have to pull really hard to hold it up. When you are up-right, think about balancing your head in line with and on top of your hips, with your back relaxed.
If you really work on that and it still doesn't help, you might want to see someone to take a pain survey to see if you've got some neuromuscular something-or-other like fibromyaligia.
