The worst thing is it's a fun class, with a really awesome professor (who is also a Trek fan, actually, and might just laugh if McCoy stormed into his office one day, but thanks anyway Bones, LOL). I'm just utterly failing at this particular essay topic and he's basically being very polite about saying, "Um, this isn't gonna work" and I'm like nyuuuhhhhhh I don't know what I'm doing for this.
aw, I hate not being able to figure out exactly what I should write in essays to make them *work*. I had that with my MA dissertation, which, up till the last minute, failed to actually come together in a satisfactory way. I still passed it, but my supervisor must have been quite disappointed, as it was nowhere near my previous essays throughout the course.
So I sympathise. Just hang in there, and give it your best.
Don't be intimidated! You're not stupid. You're far from stupid. The harder classes are, from my experience, the more you have a chance to learn. As long as everyone is understanding.
:( *huuuuug* come home for valentine's day and we can be silly?
also chapman (i assume that's who this is) is exceedingly intimidating but also intimidatingly understanding. i'm willing to bet he would be very willing to talk you through how to make your idea work, as scary as it is to approach him in his office like "uhm i have the dumb. fix it?" he is the kind of person who would believe any idea can work with the proper set-up.
(I'm so glad you guys aren't trying to buddy-block me on V-day for having a boyfriend. If I'm in town we must get together and like watch horror movies or some shit.)
INTIMIDATINGLY UNDERSTANDING, I know. This phrase should not make sense but it does. I mean, I always love that he gives you the benefit of the doubt and is like "I'm not understanding this" rather than saying, "No, this is wrong," but for once I kind of want him to say, "You need to come up with something else" so that I can somewhat gracefully bow out? still, the hugs are plenty and squeezing, albeit mental and long-distance.
