*siiiiigh* *grumble* How the hell am I supposed to make a case for myself when a class I am 99% positive I've only missed once has "excessive absences" checked on the progress report? I thought it was kind of strange when the instructor was all "Nice to see you, Layla" when I walked into class the other day, but I HAVEN'T BEEN GONE. What the HELL?

I was given an awesome prompt for that TV Producer meme that's going around and have been putting some thought into it, but until I get the time to actually do that one...

Dude, I can't seem to get my AIM to work on my new computer (it logs in...but it's not the same account I've been using...or something), but I have to bug you. You need to listen to like...the first half of Sign of 4 asap to be competent for reading "Articulation." Or try to. Plz.

can't comment on Caprica, as I've only seen the pilot (we're watching so many shows right now, we thought we'd wait until the season is complete before DLing it :-P).

I haven't finished His Dark Materials yet (I still need to read the last book), *but* I aboslutely loved Scoresby, from the beginning, don't quite know why. and Lord Asriel is my favourite as well (and then they had Daniel Craig play him in the film, and he was yum... :-P). and, hey, I kind of liked the film too. If only the ending was... well... the proper one.

and yeah, Neverwhere *is* pretty much love all round... :-P

It's actually kind of creepy, because I've loved Daniel Craig for a while and he was like MY ASRIEL, and then when they actually cast him in the movie I flipped out. So he was perfect. But my mental image of Miss Coulter was closer to somebody like Julianne Moore, not that Kidman isn't awesome pretty much all the time. The ending reminded me of what they did with Two Towers, delaying the ending of that book so that it was in the next movie, only we're probably not getting a Subtle Knife movie, so it's just...meh.

oooh, nice! I got this with Sean Bean and the pilot of A Game of Thrones (now, if HBO *actually* green-lights the series...).
And yeah, I think that's what they were doing too - I was equally put-out when they did it with The Two Towers. I left the cinema telling everyone with me 'But that's not how it should end!'

my love for him is, like. Insane. Idek where it comes from but I just adore him so hard (and I also liked the movie, the ending pissed me off so much but up until then it was chuggin' along just fine! Pan was darling and Lyra was sassy and sullen and manipulative and sharp and they didn't screw up anything I can remember and the cast was just amazing and, Sam Motherfucking Elliott! ♥ and THEN THEY JUST HAD TO CUT OFF THE LAST CHAPTERS, WTF)

The cast was amazing, especially since if I could have hand-picked a Lord Asriel, it would have totally been Craig. But yeah, they not only screwed up the ending but they did the parts with the bears throwin' down and Lyra being in the creepy place in the wrong order, so that instead of them heading over to Svalbard with an actual objective they were just randomly captured by baddies or something and "while you're in the neighborhood, Iorek, let's get medieval on each other" and I just remember it made a lot less sense and really annoyed me. But some of the movie was pretty badass.

She has the beyond-this-number-I-start-taking-you-down quota like most professors...And I went to see her about it and apparently I only have two absences (I'm still pretty sure it should only be one), which doesn't seem like anything to blow the whistle about. She kinda took my word for it but added something about how I need to participate in class more, and I'm like...Okay, but whether you mark me as absent should not depend on something as arbitrary as how much I'm raising my hand, if you're separating the participation and attendance grades.

I loooved Mary Malone. She was kinda my favorite thing about the last book.
