My favorite story this year (of my own): My HP fic.

My best story this year: Same.

My not-best story this year: Leaving out the QAF fic, which I mostly feel indifferent about with it being a very old WIP of mine I decided to dust off..."Counterfeits" is probably the weakest. I'm happy I managed to bang out something so long for a big bang that isn't terrible, and I became so invested in the universe that it makes me sad I probably couldn't expand on it with a prequel or sequel any time soon. But with it being a fusion I don't feel like there is much I can take credit for and it's a fic I definitely feel I mostly wrote for the hell of it.

Most successful story: Probably Counterfeits, which was my first fic to weirdly get a massively bigger reaction on AO3 than on LJ (I have yet to post it on FF, should be interesting to see what happens there). Still, it's hard to judge when you're writing across different fandoms and all.

Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I didn't expect more - the fandom's dying down a bit these days - but a bigger reaction to my HP fic would have made my day. I'm not complaining, though, some people praised it very generously.

Sexiest story/Story with the single sexiest moment: "Dog Years" without a doubt. I didn't exactly mostly write it for myself because of the kinks, but if it wasn't already obvious...

Easiest story to write: It's weird to say this because some parts of it were just not working right up to the deadline, but "The Counterfeits," because it was pulling up from an existing plot, came to me very fast at least at the start. Though even the outcome of the murder mystery aspect was planned out very early in the plot bunny stages, and that strays pretty far from the book. It was one of those stories where I felt from the beginning there was only one story I could tell with the premise that I wanted to tell, I guess?

Hardest story to write: "Game."

Writing technique or style you’ve done well: I wrote an unusual amount of first person, and according to other people not too shabbily.

Something you’d like to work on in future: Uh, see the WIPs. I am seriously dying to write another crossover, actually, I just don't know when I will. None of my x-over ideas are a top priority, but maybe I'll get something done this year. Just don't ask me about the insane pan-fandom Lost crossover idea I've been babbling about with my sister...

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? I'm not sure what I predicted, but...I wasn't extremely productive this year :/

Did you take any writing risks this year? There was pretty much nothing I wrote this year that made me think "This will probably be accessible to most people in the fandom," so I'll say yes?

Favourite OC: "Rock" Hardy, Kirk's rival at the murder squad. He probably only had like two lines in the fic but I would have loved to use him more.

Biggest surprise: Having come up with the idea for Counterfeits kind of on the fly, it led me to the pleasant surprise of writing more of characters I'd written little or none of before. When I realized Christopher Pike would have to be cast as Frank Mackey I pretty much hit the roof in excitement to write it.

Overall thoughts: It's weird to realize that with both what I posted and with my WIPs I hit tons of different fandoms this year. I even have a couple SPN fics I'd love to finish. And what's really good but also very inconvenient is the fact that my original novel is knocking at my brain in full force right now. *sigh*, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PLAN IS AT THIS POINT.
