-I keep forgetting Jena Malone can actually act now. (I was half paying attention to that Hatfields & McCoys miniseries the other day. It looked alright.)

-My UK shows have become really hard to track down. I've pretty much lost my motivation to finish up Skins at this point (I may some day, but it was getting ridiculous) but I finally friggin' watched that last season of Misfits. Most people (myself included) were unhappy to see Nathan go, but I'm not sure his absence is really the reason for it not being as good as it used to be. I still enjoyed it; Curtis' second power was pretty much the biggest fetish fuel the show has ever brought, and there was a WWII episode and there was plenty of deadpan Simon and Kelly Not Taking Shit. But I'm just not exactly rushing to ask my friends if they've watched it yet or anything.

Still, this guy.

(GUH, in my opinion.)

I don't know how well the next season could possibly work out, with there only being two actors still signed on. I basically feel like this show is over :(

-Right now I'm pretty happy to have found [livejournal.com profile] guidedaxe cause I was kind of expecting to be the only book 'verse Abe&Henry fangirl on the internet, but I can't help being bummed there isn't more of an environment for me to just flail all over it and discuss all my favorite parts of the book and actually put the time into writing meta that I have reason to think will get more than one comment. Total fandom tosca. I hate you, Seth Grahame-Smith.

Did you know Jena Malone will play Johanna in Catching Fire? (not sure if you’ve already read this one?). Mmm… I have mixed feelings about this because she doesn’t quite match the way I pictured the character in my head.

And I feel the same about Misfits. I wasn’t happy with Nathan’s departure (and the way they completely butchered my ‘ship –Kelly and Nathan, if you are curious--), but maybe because of my low expectations and that I've never taken this show seriously I enjoyed season 3, it was quite fun (the first season remains my favorite, though). What I don’t get is why there’s going to be a season 4… I am not sure I’ll watch.

Aw, I feel you on the lack of fandom disappointment. I’ve been there and it’s pretty frustrating. I wish books had more fandom-y stuffs, but it’s mainly movies and tv. Sigh. (btw, I’ve added ALVH on my summer to-read list. I am glad you made that review because I doubt I would have picked up that one. I usually enjoy vampires but I thought this one was a parody, heh).

Oh, I didn't know that! I'm still in the middle of Catching Fire but haven't gotten to Johanna yet.

I remember being disappointed in how the Kelly and Nathan thing fizzled out, though at the same time weirdly amused at how bluntly realistic it was...it was an odd feeling. And yeah, I don't know how good another season could be; there are always more delinquents and more superpowers, but I was never quite as into the concept as the characters I guess.

I'm finding that there are only so many book fandoms that are big at all, and it's sad (I'm just really lucky to have found other people who love Tana French's stuff that much cause I don't even know what I'd do, LOL). Even the message boards on goodreads can be disappointingly dead. And yay, ALVH...I just saw the movie and it was definitely much more of a LOLfest than the book.
