Okay, this episode just strolled right into my tops list with guns a-blazing.
Things that were awesome about this episode:
Hot Dog. ilu. And Narcho=amusing amounts of FAIL; it was funny to get that kind of meek but frank apology from him in the end.
Loved Kara's reaction to Sam getting shot. Really. As much as I'm afraid of the ever-surprising power of their relationship, I'm always kind of moved by that part of Kara that loves Anders more than she thinks she does. I think in her past life she maybe would've been capable of leaving him to die because she's hardcore and it's the practical thing, but I just don't think she's a person who could live with that now.
Chief was fucking win. One of my favorite parts in the whole episode was that encounter with Kelly, and I also loved the hell out of him screwing up the FTL with HIS BARE HANDS. YES.
(Also, I have yet to see anyone who's able to explain that weird stuff he saw on the walls, so I don't think we're supposed to know.)
Lampkin=Captivating as usual. I'm still disappointed he isn't the final cylon.
Just when I thought Bill was Laura couldn't get any sweeter.
The treatment of Gaeta's character was done with a lot more sensitivity than I thought they could've managed at this point, even when his actions earned him the door. That scene with him and Baltar was so simple and reflective and sad. Speaking of Baltar, the man actually had tears in his eyes on a couple different occasions. For once he had the clarity to actually wake up and think, Dude. People's lives are in danger, and I'm just hanging out here getting laid. It's weird to hear him openly confess to not really respecting his little harem the entire time he was doing the religious thing, and I'm pretty interested in seeing where his character goes from here.
I am SO happy to see Zarek go, though, and if there's anything I don't like about the conclusion of this episode it's that he handled his own execution so bravely. I guess he's just an inherently bad mother and actually didn't have any values or regrets? I shouldn't be surprised.
