is it even worth it.
May. 10th, 2010 02:41 amFF.NET NEEDS TO DIE.
The site has apparently been eating up almost everything that people are using as breaks (there is some way to put lines in which I haven't even figured out, a lot of people have been using asterisks or whatever). Which without a doubt compromises the quality of your work. As in, every section looks like one section without any kind of gap at all. And this is happening to everything, which means authors are having to go to a whole lot of work to re-upload stuff that's too old for them to still have a copy to edit. I was able to edit my latest fic. I'm really not sure how motivated I am to fix everything else. Jesus, that stupid site. The best you can hope for is that the readers are becoming aware of the problem.

I e-mailed them and got a response last night.
A very terse, stupid response.
Me:
"It would appear ff.net has EATEN all of my section breaks.
In some fics I use asterisks, *** centered. Those are gone. A few others that use asterisks and o's in various formats seem to have stayed.
Please advise on how to fix this without having to upload EVERYTHING again.

Response:
"The site is designed to omit certain formats and fonts. Use something else.

UGH UGH UGH. Apparently this problem has come up, gone away, and come up again, which makes me seriously not want to devote the time to fixing anything.
I AM GOING TO BED.

Date: 2010-05-10 07:14 pm (UTC)I also hate that their formatting will not allow two spaces in a row. I always double space after a period for ease of reading, ff.net, and you reformatting everything to a single space is irritating, kthnx.

Date: 2010-05-12 12:38 am (UTC)which isn't cool, considering I have a penchant for lots of little sections but then again I don't really care about any FF.net viewership I may have or whatever LOL

Date: 2010-06-09 09:25 am (UTC)As for editing the fics (because I have to do that too, my old fics' breakers have disappeared) can't you just copy-paste? That's what I did.
