WIP meme + review of Kings

The WIP meme: post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations.
1. Jim remembers going up and downing the shot McCoy had just ordered so that his friend would say, “What the hell, asshole?” instead of "What’s wrong?”
2. The moments that mattered for the rest of the year were Kara slamming shot glasses on a table seated between the brothers in front of the piece-of-junk TV and giggling out rules to the drinking game from her clowny grinning mirth, the “woah woah”s coming with amusement from either side when she was having too much.
3. They played baseball in the park across from Jim's house, and one day while frantically backpedaling to catch a long hit, his back was rudely introduced to an unusually warm shoulder before both bodies knock-toppled into the grass.
4. “Damn right, princess, have you got a breath mint?”
5. With the exception of Spock, everyone had had trouble catching onto the rules of triad; if it wasn’t bad enough that she’d had to explain the colors over and over again, Kirk had finally been the one to volunteer a different game when Kara looked ready to throttle his first officer for winning too many times.
6. And he recalls wondering in his panic with no particular emotion attached whether finding their bodies mingled together like this would mean that he won the game in the end.

I've been watching Kings through its entire first season run, which at this point is probably as far as it's going to go, and I'm still not sure if my opinion of it is totally complimentary. ( Vaguely spoilery comments... )
