My Twilight 'Cast List'
Feb. 6th, 2008 11:07 pmI've been in the Twilight fandom for like a minute and I'm already sick to tears of seeing Emily Browning and Gaspard Ulliel's faces all over the place. Mostly because everybody just seems to be copy-catting everybody else in who they envision the characters to look like (I mean, props to whoever started suggesting them first, but. . .). To me the two together just have this kind of goth look that totally works against the originality of Meyer's vision of a vampire fantasy.
For the general hell of it, here is my Twilight series "cast list." Keep in mind that a lot of these people couldn't realistically be cast as these characters in the movies; that's not the idea. In some cases, if I can't think of any person who looks anything like how I imagine, I might just look for an actor that has the same sorta personality.
Bella Swan

Zooey Deschanel
So no, I don't have ideas for the other Quileute boys since I couldn't begin to look for Native actors that look like them, and I didn't bother with any of Bella's schoolmates because I don't have particularly vivid ideas of what they'd look like (I could seriously care less how Angela or Jessica are cast as long as they get the personalities right). And I had a hard time with Charlie. I'd like to think everybody just imagines Charlie to be like their dad, LOL.

Bella Swan
No, I don't imagine Bella to talk in wistful monotones, but something about Deschanel's physique and slightly awkward aspect really reminds me of Bells. My Bella also has a little bit of Anna Friel sprinkled in.
Edward Cullen

Chad Michael MurrayEdward Cullen

I haven't even seen one episode of One Tree Hill and I immediately thought of this kid. He is my Edward.
Rosalie Hale

Tricia HelferRosalie Hale

I have a hard time imagining Rosalie as any famous person in particular because I think to an extent that all the beautiful blondes are pretty and all but they kind of all look the same. Tricia Helfer is way too old, but she's one of the most beautiful actresses I've ever seen. If they could get someone with her acting style to play Rosalie, though, it would be perfect; Helfer has a way of coming off as pretty dominant but surprisingly and beautifully vulnerable at the same time.
Alice Cullen

Shannyn SossamonAlice Cullen

Jasper Hale

Cillian Murphy
Emmett Cullen

Tom Welling
Well. . .Okay, I'll roll with the masses here. I also imagine him to look a little like Hugh Jackman, but Welling has the perfect smile for Emmett :)
Carlisle Cullen

Mark ValleyCarlisle Cullen

Esme Cullen

Rachel Weisz
Weisz came to mind before I knew that some other people have mentioned her for Esme too. I'm not sure she necessarily looks like a silent film actress, though?
Jacob Black

Joseph Gordon-LevittJacob Black

I don't even know why, but I have always imagined Jacob Black to look like a Native American version of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and when I was a little bit into New Moon,
flowrs4ophelia said, hmm, "I imagine Jacob to look like a Native American Joseph Gordon-Levitt", and I of course freaked out to find out this idea is actually pretty popular in the fandom. *squee*
ReneƩ

Laura LinneyReneƩ
I like Linney for ReneƩ just because she looks like a cute, spunky mom who could've been a knockout when she was younger. And I can see her looking like someone who looks like Bella.
